This area is south of NOV 2. It is 10 yards long and 5 yards wide. There are torches held on the walls, lighting the whole area. The area is a rough brown cave worked into a tunnel, with graffiti all over the walls and a floor of difficult terrain. Wooden boxes of all sizes clutter the corridor here (including one placed to hide the portcullis lever, see below).
Making sure no unauthorised people enter, is a big squad of N/2 Minotaurs and Nx3 Dinomen (the Dinomen include N heroes and 1 leader) patrolling the corridor. Anyone wanting to avoid a fight should either sneak around using the boxes for cover or be quick with a slick line of patter before the mob charges in with blind violence.
Inside the boxes found in this area, there’s a 12-cubic-feet gilded ivory sculpture ($110400, 540 lbs.) and an enchanted Bottomless Chest (can contain up to 800 lbs of stuff, 500 of which don’t count as encumbrance, $100200, 40 lbs.) kept in relatively secure storage.
At the south end of the area, there’s a metal portcullis (standard metalwork stats for the floor) blocking access to a thin (1 yard wide) passageway going 10 yards south. Raising the portcullis requires switching a lever on the floor near the south end, the lever is hidden by a big tall wooden box (placed upon it by the guards).
