Floor 5: May

The fifth floor of the mega-dungeon is oddly sterile, regular and organized. There is a running theme of poison and disease, despite the hospital-like trappings. The ceiling of the floor is about 15 yards high. Any doors in such buildings are average ironbound, DR 10 and HP 34, assume Lockpicking +0 modifier if locked. Walls of building on the floor are six inches thick, DR 78 and HP 75. Any metalwork on the floor are average; DR 9 and HP 18 for bars, weighing 500 lbs., and ST 18 to lift 2-handed without assistance or extra effort.

Lighting can vary, but is often completely dark. Mana on the floor is Normal. Good Sanctity is usually Normal. Nature’s Strength is -3.

The chance of a random encounter on this floor is 9 or less on 3d.

Monster Notes: N denotes a number equal to however many 250-point adventurers are effectively in the party, with every +100 points total increasing N by 1 (so a party of two 125-point delvers, one 250-point adventurer and one 350-point delver is N=1+1+2=4).

MAY 1: Welcome Desk

The stairs down at APR 26 leads to this area. This room is 5 yards wide and 7 yards long. The area is completely dark. The area’s walls, floor and ceiling are shiny white marble. The main feature of the area is a clean polished marble desk about 4 yards long and 1 yard wide, with 3 wooden chairs set up behind it. However, any bureaucratic materials or papers were cleaned out long ago and do not clutter the desk.

A valuable treasure is hidden here, an empty Bottomless Backpack, an enchanted container that holds up to 200 lbs. but up to 100 lbs. of which does not count towards encumbrance while worn (worth $20010, weighs 10 lbs.), it’s been left pushed into a space below the counter of the desk.

Lurking in this area, ready to torment those coming down the stairs, is a boss monster, a Demon of Old who will ambush and slaughter whoever it can.

This area has a 4-yard-wide corridor going out 10 yards west to another area (no doors).
