The eastern door from FEB 19 leads to this area. This room is 10 yards wide and 10 yards long. The area is only lit by the terrible red and blue glow of the hellgate (-3 Darkness penalty everywhere in the room).
This area has smooth grey stone walls, floor and ceiling blanketed with snow. The smell of ozone fills the air. In the middle of the room is a horrible portal to Hell, bursting with intensely cold chaotic energies that create a minor blizzard all around it. This is the source of all the demons waging war against the elementals. Only demons can use this portal. Changing or destroying the dimension hellgate with magic is resisted by an effective skill of 20. This area is very cold. There is No Good Sanctity here, Very High Evil Sanctity, Very High Mana and Nature’s Strength is -10. All random encounters here are demons and arctic-dwelling creatures, the chance of a random encounter is +3.
The portal to Hell is guarded by N Jala (Water) as-Sharak, who all want to utterly destroy anyone capable of shutting down their foothold into the dungeon floor. Therefore, they’ll target the clerics and magicians first.
At the foot of the hellgate, the demons have piled 100 loose silver coins they found elsewhere as a symbolic tribute to their dark masters.
On the eastern wall, there’s an unlocked standard door leading directly to another room.
